Updted Standings after Kansas

I have no idea how this race ended because the TV broadcast switched to ladies nine ball pool as soon as Danica's bitter and repugnant interview was over. In fact, I believe the Indy Car stewards spent 25 minutes looking through the rule book to see how they could award her the win.

Anyway, normal service was resumed this week with a frightening display of speed by Target Chip Ganassi Racing. Wheldon took the win when he took advantage of a yellow which came out almost precisely as Scott Dixon entered the pits for his last green flag stop. Either way, the only car likley to go to victory lane yesterday was red with white circles. All of you Dixon teams out there were probably licking your chops in anticipation of a maximum haul of points on Sunday. If it is any consolation, Dixon is very capabale of that feat at Indy where it will be worth double points.

Thomas Scheckter and his Penske B Team, oh sorry, Luczo Dragon Racing were mightly impressive coming straight out of the box and onto the pace as fast as they did. They now have a month of Indy preparation ahead of them and they cannot be ruled out for a strong finish, possibly even a victory. Any of you who picked him up on the cheap for Kansas will be very happy when the driver values are published later on today.

With that in mind, don't forget to follow the unofficial practice from Indy. There will be live online coverage from the start of May and you will have until just before the start of pole day to make your choices. I will be updating the blog on a regular basis throughout May so just keep logging on and there should be plenty there to keep you informed/occupied.

If anyone wants to vent about anything at all, please email me and I will try and publish it on the blog. The latest standings are below:

  1. Dex, why do I have more points than you, but you're ahead in the standings?

  2. Mine tv was just the opposite. First 20 minutes where extended tennis viewing. Lucky I was able to watch the end as my dvr would have cut out on it.

  3. Emo,

It was typo. I have 620 points as opposed to 610. Sorry for the confusion.

  4. Jason,

I was only joking about the nine ball pool, i was just trying to illustrate the point that ESPN's coverage of Danicapalooza ended as soon as she retired from the race.

  6. Ha... very good then :) Is Danica's head bigger or is that a big chip on her shoulder. Co-workers call it confidence. I'm not so sure. Where's the Ashely Forcepalooza!
